With very little space remaining in the High Tech Business Park, a plan is now in motion to explore the possibility of building another park, for businesses to set up shop on.

The Sheridan Economic and Educational Development Alliance has approved a bid of $29,750 to MC2 Engineering and Construction, to conduct a feasibility study on 3-to-4 potential sites and developing 1 preferred alternative.

The project is referred to as Phase 2 of the park, and $20,000 of the bid came from a grant from the Wyoming Business Council earlier this year.

SEEDA Administrator Robert Briggs explains what happens once the study is finished.

“The next steps for SEEDA after that would be if there is a solid preferred site, that we would then look at what it would take to turn it into a partnership with the property owner and develop that site with infrastructure similar to the high tech business park.”

Briggs says he hopes the feasibility study will be done around February of next year.

There is also a possibility of expanding the current park on the north side of Sheridan, or building another one nearby.
