A Sheridan County woman now represents Wyoming’s community colleges on a national level.

Earlier this month, Erin Kilbride was selected to be the new state representative with the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT).

It’s a non-profit educational organization of governing boards that represent more than 6,500 elected and appointed trustees, who govern more than 1,200 community, technical and junior colleges in the US and beyond.

Mrs. Kilbride is also a member of the Wyoming Association of Community College Trustees, and a trustee within the Northern Wyoming Community College District.

She says she’s just getting her feet wet with her new role and currently does not have any issues to bring up to the national board, but she’s glad there are other representatives that have an interest in Wyoming’s Community Colleges.

“Everybody is always curious to see what’s going on in Wyoming. We don’t usually have the same issues or problems as a lot of them do, so it can be refreshing to them to hear how we deal with things and what’s going on with us.”

Mrs. Kilbride is attending the ACCT Leadership Congress Conference in New York City, which starts Wednesday (October 26th) and runs through Saturday.

Sheridan County and The State of Wyoming could not ask for a better representative than Erin Kilbride. She is intelligent, dedicated, and passionate about what she believes in. Congratulations to her and our Community for having her be our representative.
