Some Sheridan City employees will soon have new computers to work on.

The Sheridan City Council approved a bid from BusTech LLC in the amount of $74,124 which will replace 73 desktop computers, laptops and tablets to the city.

The city normally uses about 238 of them.

The new devices that will come in are part of a 5 year rotating replacement cycle to ensure such technology is available and operating effectively every day.

BusTech Computing LLC put in the lowest bid, but before it was approved, city staff wanted additional information regarding product specifications, and those specifications met or exceeded the minimum requirements of the bid.

Originally the city council had budgeted $94,300 for the replacements, meaning there’s still about $20,000 left over.
