A rodeo queen from Sheridan is now the rodeo queen of Wyoming.
Thursday night (August 18th), Reata Cook, who is the 2022 Miss Sheridan WYO Rodeo Queen, was named Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2023 at the Wyoming State Fair in Douglas.
She also won the Best Social Media award to promote the Wyoming State Fair, as well as the awards for Miss Congeniality, Best Speech, Personality and Horsemanship.
Among the many prizes that go with the title of Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2023 include a $2,000 scholarship from the Miss Rodeo Wyoming Scholarship Foundation.
Cook is a 2019 graduate of Big Horn High School, where she competed in volleyball, basketball and track and field for the Lady Rams.
Her team won the 2A Girls Basketball State Championship in 2017, and the 2A Girls Track and Field State Championship in 2016 and 2017.
Cook will compete for the title of Miss Rodeo America 2024 in December of next year, at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Congratulations Reata! That is extremely great accomplishment! I’m very happy for you and I’m sure you’ll go far and all your future endeavors cuz I know you put in a lot of hard work all the things that you have done so far in your life. But remember always to stay humble and know that many people have also helped to get you where you are today. Keep up the great work!
