Volunteers can sometimes help make a difference in the success of a business or project and sometimes help from another business can help as well.
Recently the Sheridan Food Group held its volunteer appreciation party to give thanks for all the help they’ve received in getting meals ready and delivering them among other things.
The group named Bruce Kjerstad and Darlene Hruska as its volunteers of the year.
A new award was presented this year and that was the “Make A Difference Award,” which is the business of the year.
Elizabeth Moore who is the Program Coordinator of the Food Group, says the award was given to Sheridan Commercial for their help with fundraising and unloading supplies.
“They had the round-up program. If you shop at Sheridan Commercial you can round up to the nearest dollar and that money comes to the food group to send food to kids. We use their forklift every week, not only the forklift but forklift driver. Curt gets his forklift out and unloads the truck of pallets of food.”
Last month Sheridan Media won first place in the large market radio public service category.
The public service was for the Sheridan Food Group and the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters provided a $500 donation for Sheridan Media to present to the group.
