With the 2022 Sheridan WYO Rodeo upon us, it’s time for this year’s rodeo royalty to represent, and for next year’s royalty to learn the ropes.
Two ladies from Sheridan area rival high schools will share the duties of representing the Sheridan WYO Rodeo.
Kylee Lamb of Big Horn and Isabella Yellowtail of Tongue River were named the 2023 Miss Sheridan WYO Rodeo Co-Senior Princesses.
Lamb is a Sheridan native and recent Big Horn High School graduate.
She says she’s looking forward to the many places she will visit as she represents both Sheridan and the rodeo.
“My biggest thing is that I’m just excited to travel and be a part of the parade. I love watching parades, I’m like ‘I want to be in it,’ and I want to experience that with my amazing horse ‘Cowboy,’ and I’m just excited to travel.”
Yellowtail is about to begin her senior year at Tongue River High School and is last year’s Miss Crow Fair Rodeo Queen.
She says of the many things she wants to do as Miss Sheridan WYO Rodeo co-Senior Princess is to let future pageant contestants know that dreams can come true.
“I think the biggest one that I want to do is make an impact. I want to take this crown back home, show all the little girls that look up to me and show them that can make a change too, and that they can make history.”
Under their titles, rodeo queens and princesses serve as role models to all young ladies, regardless if they grew up in the western lifestyle.
They are ambassadors to the sport of rodeo, the local sponsoring rodeo and the community and an educator of the sport of rodeo and western lifestyle.
Normally there would be 4 crowns awarded at the pageant, but no one entered the competition for queen, princess and junior princess.
Lamb and Yellowtail were the only 2 entrants for Senior Princess, and both scored high enough that the judges decided they should share the title.

It was so wonderful that the beautiful SR Princesses will have each other to get thru the year together and continue to better themselves for the next competition.
