Trails Center to offer interpretive programs at Independence Rock

According to a release, in a partnership with Wyoming State Parks, Historic Sites, and Trails, the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center will offer a series of interpretive programs at the Independence Rock State Historic Site throughout September and the first two weekends of October. 

Every Friday and Saturday, a Trails Center park ranger will be at Independence Rock from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to present short, formal programs about the cultural heritage of the site and its greater historical significance. The park ranger will hike the trails around Independence Rock after the program ends until 2 p.m. to answer questions from visitors and share information.  

“We are excited to revive this partnership with the BLM and potentially grow the program into a regular offering,” Wyoming State Parks Superintendent Carlo Migliaccio said. “Please come out and join us in learning about the fascinating history of Independence Rock and the people who traveled through here.”
