The starting pitcher for Cheyenne Post 6 was able to hold his own against the Sheridan Troopers.

Travis Onisto pitched a complete game 7-innings, throwing 101 pitches, allowing 1 run and 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2, as the defending AA state champs defeated the Sheridan Troopers 5-1, in the second round of the AA State Tournament in Laramie.

Cody Kilpatrick had the lone RBI for the Troopers (43-22), as his single brought in Michael Greer in the bottom of the 5th inning.

Trevor Stowe added 2 base hits in the game.

Sheridan loaded the bases in the bottom of the first, but were unable to score any runs.

Post 6 (65-17-1) scored 2 in the 2nd and 3 in the 3rd, which ended up being more than enough offense.

Sheridan will play the Casper Oilers on Wednesday, July 28th in an elimination game.

First pitch is scheduled for 1pm.
