Sheridan Man Arraigned in District Court for Felony Property Destruction
An Arraignment Hearing was held Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for 19-year-old Nathan Haworth, (haw-worth) who is charged with one count of Felony Property Destruction or Defacement. Haworth pleaded “not guilty” to the charge and District Court Judge John Fenn set the date for the four-day trial to begin on February 8 of next year. Judge Fenn scheduled a pretrial conference for January 7 at 11 am and continued the bond under the same terms and conditions that were previously set in Circuit Court.
According to court documents, Haworth, on March 16 of this year, was involved in the destruction of property, primarily mailboxes, along Upper Prairie Dog Road, Highway 87, Birdfarm Road, Brinton Road and Beaver Creek Road in Sheridan County. An investigation by the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office revealed there were over 30 victims and over $1,700 in damage that occurred during the alleged crime spree. Felony Property Destruction or Defacement is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
