On November 2, the Wyoming Food Coalition announced that they will bring its 2026 Annual Conference to Casper November 12–14, welcoming agricultural producers, food entrepreneurs, educators, nonprofit organizations, policymakers, and community members from across the state for three days of learning, collaboration, and connection.

This three-day gathering will connect Wyoming producers, food advocates, educators, and community leaders to strengthen local food systems.

The conference will take place primarily at the Agricultural Resource and Learning Center (ARLC), 2011 Fairgrounds Road, and will feature educational presentations, workshops, networking opportunities, and tours highlighting Wyoming’s growing local food movement.

The coalition is working towards building a stronger Wyoming food system, from the challenges of producing food in Wyoming’s unique climate to the importance of food access, the conference will explore opportunities and issues shaping the future of food in the Cowboy State.

Executive Director Ally Reeder said they are a statewide non-profit that works with producers and their local community. The coalition works to improve the connection between producers and local community. “We advocate for local producers to make it easier to access their local markets so that Wyoming foods remain on Wyoming plates.” She said. “We have members in every Wyoming county, and that is part of why we want to gather everyone together. It is a really unique life to be a producer, and we make opportunities for people to connect and share what they are going through, and for us as an organization to really understand what our members are going through and how we can support them.”

Conference topics and activities at the conference will include cooperative business models in food and agriculture; Citizen advocacy and local food policy; Social media and storytelling for agriculture producers; Rural resilience and producer well-being.

It will also feature whole-carcass breakdown and local meat production, food sovereignty, a seed swap, silent auction, a book exchange, a farmers market, and children’s activities.

Attendees can learn from experts, connect with fellow producers, and explore practical approaches to making locally grown and produced food more accessible.

There will be tours of local producers operations on Saturday which will give participants an opportunity to visit organizations and see first hand how Casper-area initiatives are supporting food production, education and community connections.

“We want to get the word out about the conference,” Reeder said. It is open to anyone interested in where food comes from, how is reaches community and how to strengthen Wyoming local food economy – From farmers and ranchers to educators. Food business owners, nonprofit leaders, gardeners and consumers.

Several Sheridan area producers will be at the conference, including Sheridan’s Wellborn Farms; Young’s Farm from Parkman; Papa Joes Produce and Julie Rieder, Executive director, Science Kids.
