Work is now underway on Main Street in downtown Sheridan and a few new problems have popped up that construction, city and WYDOT officials are trying to deal with.
Crews are working on removing and replacing the concrete at the intersection of Dow and Main Streets as well as Dow between Brooks and Gould Streets.
Main Street is also closed between Dow and Mandel Streets.
At its first weekly public meeting, representatives from WYDOT, the city of Sheridan, and Oftedal Construction provided updates on the projects and answered questions about new situations that have recently arisen.
Examples include how delivery trucks conduct their business in the construction zone, as well as how the city can provide better identification of public parking areas.
WYDOT Engineer Jake Whisonant says one minor problem presented itself this past Monday, at the end of the school day.
“We had the middle school (Sheridan Junior High School) let out and there was a bunch of middle schoolers that…that was their normal route was to cross Main at Dow Street and they couldn’t all of a sudden on Monday, so we did coordinate with the school and the principal up there and we’ve got some communications out, so hopefully we’ve alleviated that.”
Whisonant says identifying private parking areas is the responsibility of the local businesses.
WYDOT public meetings are scheduled for each Wednesday at 1:30pm at the ERA Carroll Realty Building on Main Street.
Work on Dow Street is scheduled to be completed late next month.

I think they should be repairing these other streets instead of Maine Maine didn’t need any work at all but no you got to waste the money on something that don’t need to be wasted on
