It will soon be time to light up the tree for the Holiday season, and some people can use the trees at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital to remember and honor a lost loved one.
Reservations and donations are being accepted for the annual Christmas Trees of Love.
One light can be reserved for a donation of $5 or more and the color of light will depend on who is being honored.
A white light memorializes a deceased loved one, a green light honors a relative or friend, and a red light honors a special child or pet.
Along with having a symbolic light on the tree, a card will be sent to the honoree or family of the memorialized, and their name(s) will be inscribed in the “Book of Love,” which will be on display in the hospital lobby during the holidays.
Reservations and donations must be made by Monday, November 28th.
On Sunday, December 4th, the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will host the Christmas Trees of Love open house in the hospital patient lobby from 4:30 until 5pm.
The event will conclude with the lighting of the trees on the Sheridan Memorial Hospital lawn and Santa Claus will be on top of the hospital roof.
