Sheridan/Johnson County HS Coaches Named Coaches Of The Year For Fall 2025 Season: It’s the athletes that win the games, events, and championships, but the coaches have something to do with it.

Jeff Mowry (4A Football), Scott Dickey (Boys Tennis), and Art Baures (4A Boys Cross Country), all of Sheridan HS, as well as Alli Nikont (2A Volleyball) and Cody Ball (2A Girls Cross Country), both of Big Horn HS, have been named Coaches of the Year for the Fall 2025 sports season, by the Wyoming Coaches Association.

Bob Hanchett of Sheridan HS in football and Tara Hall of Buffalo HS in Cross Country were named Assistant Coaches of the Year.

The Sheridan HS Football team 5-peated as 4A State Champs, and as of the end of the 2025 season, are on a 55-game winning streak, which is a Wyoming State Record (old record was 34) and is currently the second longest active winning streak in the country.

The Broncs have also won 34 in a row at home, which is a new Wyoming State Record (old record was 31).

The Sheridan HS Boys Tennis team won its second state title in school history.

The other was in 1985.

Sheridan HS Boys and Girls Basketball: The Sheridan boys team went 2-1 in games played in Casper during the opening weekend of the season.

The Broncs didn’t have much trouble against Douglas and Riverton, but Arvada West was a different story as the team fell behind and never could get back over the hump.

Head Coach Jeff Martini explains the good and bad regarding the team after 3 games of play.

The Sheridan girls team posted the same 2-1 record as the boys, against the same teams.

The only difference was that they were able to play a closer game against Arvada West.

Both the Sheridan boys and girls teams are scheduled to play their home opener tomorrow vs. Natrona County.

The teams will also play on Friday at Kelly Walsh.
