Dane Steel Talks About FCS Championship Game Hurdle: Earlier this week, a former Sheridan High School Football Player arguably had the #1 highlight of the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision National Championship Game.

Bronc graduate, and current Montana State University redshirt freshman Dane Steel caught a pass in the 2nd quarter, hurdled a would-be tackler and managed to score on what was a 33 yard touchdown play.

Those that know Steel from his high school days, know that during the spring season, he played soccer and did not participate in track and field.

Here’s how the play went down from his perspective.

He says he’s seen the various angles of video replays and explains which one he liked best.

Montana State would defeat Illinois State 35-34 in overtime to win the FCS National Championship.

Sheridan/Johnson County HS Basketball: The season for many Wyoming teams resumes today, now that the winter break is over.

The Sheridan girls are back on the court at 2pm, as they will take on Wheatland inside Storey Gymnasium in Cheyenne.

You can hear that game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

The Big Horn and Tongue River girls are also scheduled to play today from the comforts of their respective gyms.

The Lady Rams host Pine Bluffs, while the Lady Eagles will take on Burns.

Both games tip-off at 7pm.

The Buffalo boys and girls are in Cheyenne this weekend.

The Bison and Lady Bison take on Thunder Basin in back to back games beginning at 12:30pm.

Kaycee is at home tonight for a boys and girls double-header vs. Casper Christian, beginning at 5pm.

In Junior Hockey, the Sheridan Hawks split weekend road games this past weekend at Bozeman.

Vincent Leaf scored 4 times in Friday’s 7-2 win.

While getting the road split is normally the goal each weekend, a familiar problem has returned and that is that Sheridan has been unable to follow up on a big win.

Leaf says it’s usually the same players on both teams the next day, but the style of play sometimes changes and the Hawks sometimes have trouble remembering that.

Sheridan is on the road this weekend for a 2-game series against Great Falls.

University of Wyoming Women’s Basketball: The Wyoming Cowgirls battled for 4 quarters at Nevada last night, but the offense was a no show in overtime, as the team lost 70-60.

UW only managed to score 1 point in the extra 5 minutes.

The Lady Wolfpack shot 49% for the game and their bench outdid the Brown and Gold 24-6.

Wyoming was led by the usual 2 players, those being Henna Sandvik who scored 18 points and Malene Pedersen contributed with a dozen.

The Cowgirls are next scheduled to play this coming Saturday at home vs. UNLV.

Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets won last night at Boston 114-110.

The Nuggets are next scheduled to play tomorrow at home vs. Atlanta and on Sunday at home vs. Milwaukee.
