Sheridan HS Wrestling/Ron Thon Preview: The State Wrestling Meet is 1 month away, and wrestlers will get a preview of the competition this weekend, and maybe more.

Unlike the state meet, where a wrestler only goes up against an opponent from a school in his or her own class, the Ron Thon Invitational in Riverton, pits some of the best of the best against each other, regardless of what class your school is in.

Historically, anyone who is a contender for a state championship, will be in this competition.

Sheridan HS Senior Keegan Rager won at this event last year, and he says he knows he’s a target, and it’s not just the other 4A wrestlers coming after him.

Junior Braxten Crow placed 3rd last year and like Rager, he says do not underestimate the competitors from smaller schools.

The girls version of the Ron Thon is tomorrow and Friday.

The boys version is Friday and Saturday.

On Thursday, the Sheridan boys will compete in a dual at Kelly Walsh.

Sheridan HS Boys Swimming and Diving: Sheridan won their home finale yesterday in a dual vs. Thunder Basin, 97-62.

Senior Ben Forsythe broke his own pool record that he set last year in the 50 meter freestyle by 1 1-hundredth of a second.
