Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey Team is still in first place in the NA3HL Frontier Division, however their lead on that spot shrunk some this past weekend.

The team dropped both games at Great Falls, who now trail Sheridan in the standings by 5 points, and Helena is only 6 points back in 3rd place, with 12 games remaining in the regular season.

Head Coach J.J. Santagata the Hawks were completely outworked this past weekend.

Sheridan returns home this weekend for a 2-game series vs. Bozeman, who is tied for 4th in the standings, thus the Icedogs are on the playoff bubble.

Coach Santagata says if the Hawks want to maintain their hold on first place, the team better remember how to play like a first place team and do it.

The puck drops tomorrow and Saturday at 7:30pm.


Sheridan County HS Wrestling And Basketball: There is competition going on today in Sheridan County.

Sheridan is hosting a wrestling dual vs. Natrona County.

The JV goes first at 5pm and then the varsity will follow.

On the basketball court, today is round 1 between Tongue River and Big Horn.

The girls varsity game tips off first at 6:30pm and the boys will follow.

Both games will be played at BH.


University of Wyoming Men’s and Women’s Basketball: Cold shooting and not enough production from the bench doomed the Wyoming Cowboys, as they lost last night at home vs. San Diego State 74-57.

The Pokes shot 31% from the field, while the Aztecs did much better at 50%.

UW’s bench was outscored 34-12.

Nasir Meyer led the Brown and Gold with 13 points.

Gavin Gores put in a dozen, and Leland Walker contributed with 10.

Wyoming is now 11-6 on the season and have a 2-4 record in the Mountain West Conference.

The next scheduled game is this coming Saturday at Fresno State.

The Wyoming Cowgirls did not fare any better last night, as they were walloped at Boise State 77-40.

The ladies only shot 32% from the field, went 4 of 25 on their 3-point tries, and only made it to the free throw line twice.

UW’s bench was outscored 37-15.

Malene Pedersen was the only Cowgirl to score in double figures as she scored 14 points. 

Wyoming is now 4-12 on the season and have a 1-6 record in the Mountain West Conference.

The team is next scheduled to play this coming Saturday at home vs. Air Force.


Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets won last night at Dallas 118-109.

The Nuggets are next scheduled to play this coming Saturday at home vs. Washington and on Sunday at home vs. Charlotte.
