Loralai Ketner Of Sheridan HS To Run Track At Augustana College: A Sheridan Lady Bronc hurdler will continue her running and jumping ways at the collegiate level.
Loralai Ketner has signed a written offer of athletic aid, to compete at Augustana College, which is a private Lutheran University, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Last school year, as a junior, she was the state champ in the 4A Girls 300 meter hurdles race.
After quitting soccer, Ketner says she started competing in track in her 7th grade year.
She had also been considering the University of Sioux Falls, but liked the team bonding activities at Augustana College better.
Ketner adds she is considering majoring in nursing.
The Augustana University Viking and Lady Viking Athletic Program competes at the NCAA Division II level, in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
Big Horn vs. Buffalo HS Basketball: There are a couple of rare Tuesday games going on today.
Big Horn and Buffalo will go head-to-head on the court, with the boys game at Buffalo and the girls game at Big Horn.
Tip-off for both contests is scheduled for 7pm.
Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks won yesterday against the Long Beach Sharks 6-5, winning via shootout 3-2.
The team will conclude the 3-day Showcase Event today, against the host team, the Minnesota Moose, who are in first place in the NA3HL West Division.
The puck drops at 11:15am.
After that the team will return home, take a break and will get back to work after the Christmas Holiday.
The next scheduled games are on January 2nd and 3rd at Bozeman.
University of Wyoming Men’s Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys wrapped up the non-conference portion of their schedule with a win yesterday against South Dakota State 87-72.
The Pokes shot better than 53% from the field, and got 25 points from the bench.
Four Cowboys scored in double-figures.
Nasir Meyer led the way with 25 points on 10 of 14 shooting.
Leland Walker put in 13, Khaden Bennett contributed with 11 and Matija Belic added in 10.
The Brown and Gold are now 9-2 on the season and the team will start Mountain West Conference play this coming Saturday at home vs. Grand Canyon University.
In other basketball news, for the 3rd time this season, Nasir Meyer was named the Mountain West Conference Freshman of the week.
In last week’s game vs. South Dakota he scored 26 points, which is the most scored by a Cowboy freshman since 2021.
He also shot 73% from the floor.
Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets won last night at home vs. Houston 128-125 in overtime.
Nikola Jokic with another triple-double…39 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists.
Jamal Murray scored 35 points as well.
The Nuggets are next scheduled to play this coming Thursday at home vs. Orlando.
