Sheridan HS Boys Basketball: After a 2-year absence in the 4A State Tournament, the Sheridan High School Boys Basketball Team made their return last season and walked out with the 3rd place trophy.

With 9 players back this season, the Broncs will try to finish the job.

Head Coach Jeff Martini says the talent and determination is there, and the players expect to do better.

Sheridan went 22-4 last season.

Sheridan HS Girls Basketball: Even though the Sheridan Girls Basketball team was last season’s state runners-up, they’re still going to be a marked team this season.

The Lady Broncs have played in the last 2 state championship games and new Head Coach Chris Wagner says most of the big contributors statistically are back from last year’s team.

He adds that a lot of 4A teams this season may not have as much experience returning, but that’s not an excuse to overlook them.

Sheridan is scheduled to tip-off their season tomorrow in Casper against Douglas, who are the 5-time defending 3A State Champs, and have won 7 of the last 8 3A Girls Crowns.

University of Wyoming Men’s Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys scored almost at will last night, as the team won at home vs. South Dakota 106-79.

The Pokes shot better than 62% from the field, and 9 of 19 from 3-point land and 17 of 21 from the free throw line.

The Brown and Gold scored 60 points in the paint and 53 points came from the bench.

Freshman Nasir Meyer led the way with 26 points, while Damarion Davis put in 21, and Adam Harakow put in 10.

Sheridan High School grad Garrett Spielman got in on the action and buried a 3-ball for his only score of the game.

UW is now 8-2 on the season and are next scheduled to play next week Monday against South Dakota State.

That game will be played in Sioux Falls.

It will be the last non-conference game on the schedule as Mountain West Conference play starts on Saturday, December 20th.

Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche lost last night at Nashville 4-3, losing via shootout 1-nothing.

The Avs are next scheduled to play tomorrow at home against the 2-time defending Stanley Cup Champ Florida Panthers.
