A Sheridan Bronc Football player is trading in his blue and gold, to play for the brown and gold and perhaps get an opportunity to play with his older brother.

Beck Haswell has signed a written offer of athletic aid, to play defensive end at the University of Wyoming.

This past season he recorded 41 tackles and had 6 sacks, to help the Broncs to their 4th straight undefeated season and 5th consecutive state championship.

His older brother Alex, graduated from Sheridan HS 2 years ago, but has yet to play for the Pokes, due to redshirting and an injury.

Beck says the UW Coaching Staff made the offer at a camp in late June, and credits his brother for getting him involved in the sport.

“Alex is a great big brother. He pushes me off the field and on the field. He was kind of the reason why I fell in love with football. I didn’t really take it seriously until my freshman year when I realized I could be pretty good at this, and he was a main reason for that and just seeing the work he puts in made me realize that I need to put in work to go where I want to go.”

Beck adds he is considering majoring in business.

The Cowboy football team reports that it has signed the top 2 recruits in the state, according to 247sports.com.

Haswell was #1, and Jackson Garrett of Cheyenne Central was the other.
