Olivia Brogdon Of Big Horn MS Finishes Tied For 4th At Elks Hoop Shoot National Competition: This past weekend, Big Horn Middle Schooler Olivia Brogdon competed against the best of the best at the Elk Hoops Shoot National Championship competition in Chicago, Illinois.
Shooting in the girls 12-13 year old division, she initially finished in a 4-way tie for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th…1-shot behind the winner, who is from Alaska.
They had to have a 2nd and 3rd place finisher, so the competitors went to a shoot-off and in the end, Brogdon finished in a tie for 4th and 5th.
She is last year’s national runner-up in the same age category.
Sheridan HS Softball: Sheridan High School will play their home finale today vs. Cody.
Varsity start times are at 4 and 6pm at the Sheridan College Softball Complex.
After today, the Lady Broncs will play Friday at Wheatland and will also play Cheyenne East.
On Saturday they will be in Torrington, and also go up against Cheyenne Central.
Sheridan HS Soccer: Sheridan will play their makeup game vs. Campbell County today.
For the boys, it is their home finale, while the girls play on the road.
Start times for both games is at 6pm.

Haylie Patterson of Sheridan HS To Play Volleyball At Rocky Mountain College: In High School Volleyball, a Sheridan High School player isn’t going far to continue playing the sport she enjoys.
Haylie Patterson has signed a written offer of athletic aid to compete at Rocky Mountain College in Billings.
This past season as a junior, she helped the Lady Broncs qualify for and finish 3rd at the 4A State Tournament.
It marked the first time in 8 years the team played in the tournament.
She explains what it was that the Rocky Mountain College coaching staff saw in her and adds it’s a relief to get this decision made and out of the way, even though she has 1 more season at the high school level.
Patterson says she is considering a major in psychology.
University of Wyoming Football: This past Saturday was the University of Wyoming Spring Football Game.
The gold team defeated the brown team 21-7.
Junior College sophomore transfer Landon Sims had 2 touchdown passes and former Campbell County QB Mason Drube was 16 of 29 passing for 175 yards.
The defense registered 8 sacks and had 4 interceptions.
After the game, Cowboy Coach Jay Sawvel did not get into many details, but said a lot of experience is coming back for the upcoming season.
The 2025 season opener is on Thursday, August 28th at Akron.
The home opener is on Saturday, September 6th vs. Northern Iowa.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost last night at home vs. Atlanta 6-3.
Hunter Goodman smacked a 3-run home run in the bottom of the 1st for Colorado, but that was it offensively.
Game 2 of the 3 game series is today starting at 6:40pm.
Denver Nuggets Basketball/NBA Playoffs: The Denver Nuggets will play Game 5 of their first round best-of-7 series today at home vs. the LA Clippers.
Tip-off time is scheduled for 8pm and the series is tied at 2 wins each.
In yesterday’s action, Cleveland completed a sweep of Miami winning 138-83.
Golden State got by Houston 109-106 and now lead that series 3-1.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey/NHL Playoffs: The Colorado Avalanche lost last night in Game 5 of their first round best-of-7 series at Dallas 6-2 and now trail in the series 3-2.
Things went south from the get-go, as the opposition needed only 9 seconds to get on the scoreboard.
Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday at Denver.
The only other final score from yesterday saw Florida double up Tampa Bay 4-2, to take 3-1 series lead.
The Lightning were hanging on to a 2-1 lead with a little less than 4 minutes to go, but then the defending Stanley Cup Champs scored twice in 11 seconds to take control.
