Myrna Loy Rosemary Hochhaus
Myrna Loy Rosemary Hochhaus, 87, passed away January 24, 2026.
She was born in Independence, Iowa, the eldest daughter of Burdeen and Helen Possehl. She and her younger sister, Karen, were the best of friends, and never stopped laughing when they were together. Myrna Loy was a Registered Nurse, and worked in many nursing positions in Iowa, Illinois, Colorado, finally making her home in Sheridan, Wyoming in 1977, with her husband, Bruce, and their three children, Mary Slipp (Peter), Mark Hochhaus (Sherri), and Margaret Wynne (Allan). She loved working in Sheridan Hospital Pediatrics, but her favorite nursing was later in her working life, caring for patients within their homes. This calling was true to her feisty, independent, loving spirit, and ultimately, how she spent her later years herself – at home, cared for by her loving family. She loved her family, crossword puzzles, books, going to Mass at Holy Name Church, socializing with her many friends, and of course, a dedicated Dog Mom to the end.
A Public viewing will be held Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 10:00AM followed by the Rosary to begin at 10:30AM at the Holy Name Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the Rosary at 11:00AM with a reception to follow in the Holy Name Parish Hall.
Interment will take place after the reception in the Juniper Heights Sections of the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
