Lilly Bruna Ellis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lilly (Lil) B. Ellis, 94, in Sheridan, Wyoming on July 19, 2025.

Lil was born in Ramey, Colorado on December 5, 1930.

Lil’s first job was at the age of 14 at the Denver Federal Center making .50 caliber ammo rounds for WWII. For over 30 years, she worked in management at Lockheed Martin in Littleton, Colorado where she caringly took 51 employees under her wing.

After retiring from Lockheed, she needed to keep busy, so she worked at Tuesday Morning, where she couldn’t resist taking advantage of her employee discount.

Lil loved to dance, sew Western skirts and blouses, and garden before losing most of her eyesight to macular degeneration.

Lil was known for her expertise in baking pies—specifically cherry, apple, and banana cream—as well as for her signature pie crust that melted in your mouth.

Lil was a caregiver. She took care of her mother, husband, her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved her family and friends, and they loved her in return.

She leaves behind Pat Ellis and her sons, Garry and Dan, her sister Lou Derby, daughters-in-law Paula and Chris, five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family from her second marriage to Joy Rodaway (d. 2019).

She is now in heaven with her parents, Pete and Kate Dalvit, her brothers Bud and Al, Joy, grandparents, and several loved ones.

Rest in peace, Lil. We will miss you. Memorial arrangements are not being planned currently.

Champion Kane Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
