Zen Bee Marchand-Hill, 15, found her way beyond this life on Friday, September 6, 2024, in Sheridan, WY at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains.
Zen was born on February 16, 2009, in Pasadena, TX to parents Charles Hill and Rivette Marchand. She loved music and interpretive dancing, always playing her favorites like Frank Black, Devo, or the Fugees in the car on the way to town and back. She often enjoyed cooking, knitting, and martial arts. Zen became the best makeup artist in town for a while, and even started pilot training. She made income from her elaborate Minecraft worlds and custom hand-built computer keyboards that had just the right amount of click. Her powerlifting had become all important to her. She was most excited to attend high school in Wyoming and make new friends. Zen loved mystery stories, and Sherlock Holmes was her favorite.
Zen’s friends and family knew her to be loving, adventurous, welcoming, smart, courageous, fearless emotionally, physically & intellectually, and always original. One of Zen’s favorite quotes goes by “Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak.”- Sun Tzu
Zen is survived by her mother Rivette Marchand of Topton, N.C., her father, Charles Stockton Hill, of Sheridan, WY., Siblings Matthew Hill of Austin, TX, Shafer Marchand-Hill of Topton, N.C., Forrest Book of Ashville, N.C, Uncle Joseph B. Hill of Fernandina Beach, FL, and Grandparents Lauren and Kathleen Hill of Houston, Texas.
Memorials to honor Zen can be made to The Society for The Prevention of Teen Suicide (https://sptsusa.org/donate/) or Directly to her Family at https://gofund.me/4c761e3f
A Memorial Service is at 2PM Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at St. Peters Episcopal Church with Reverend Joel Dingham officiating. Online condolences may be made to www.sheridanfuneral.com. Arrangements are under the care of Sheridan Funeral Home.
