Ron RichterThe Sheridan Community Land Trust is excited to announce that its newest community trail, the Green Room Trail at Malcolm Wallop Park is now open. Land Trust Director of Marketing and Development Chris Vrba says it is the Land Trust’s most accessible trail to date and it connects directly to the existing paved Sheridan pathway in Malcolm Wallop Park.
Vrba said the 1.3 mile trail winds through floodplain forest and open grassland along Goose Creek and travels up a small hill for a scenic view of Malcolm Wallop Park and the North Gateway Conservation Easement within.
Vrba said general rules regarding the trail include hours from 6:30 am to 10 pm; no motorized vehicles; pets must be leashed at all times on the trail and inside park boundaries and pet waste must be cleaned up and removed. All posted City of Sheridan park rules apply.

This was a nice walking area until they allowed this soil erosion trail. Now the bikes disturb the animals that live off the trail. All this trail is leading to is increased pollution and sedimentation in water, clogging the ditch and causing the declines in fish and other species.

If the trail is built correctly there will be no erosion problem. And I’m glad to let you know that this trail was built by a professional that takes soil erosion and trail sustainability very seriously. This trail is a great addition to the pathway!
