The Hub on Smith Street’s building remains closed to the public, but Carmen Rideout said the facility continues to provide services in the community.

Rideout, who’s executive director of the Hub, said those services include the Hub’s Help at Home program, which helps individuals with such tasks as homemaking, grocery shopping and personal care.

Rideout said Goose Creek Transit, which operates through the Hub, is operational seven days a week. And she said the Hub has also adapted some fun and wellness activities to make them available to participants in a safe and socially distant way.

In addition, Rideout said, the Hub’s Loan Closet is operational during the afternoons Mondays through Fridays for people who need equipment for fall prevention, such as wheelchairs and walkers.

She said the Loan Closet still operates out of the Hub building, which is open from noon to 4 p.m. each of those days.
