Report of Attempted Abduction in Buffalo

There was an attempted abduction in Buffalo Thursday morning, and officials are asking the community to be aware of suspicious activity and to watch for the reported vehicle and perpetrator.

According to Johnson County Code Red, there was an attempt to abduct a 12 year-old female Thursday morning.

The vehicle involved was a newer, dark blue or black short bed pickup with no known license plate, low to the ground with a shiny chrome grille, with a green baseball cap on the dash.

A tree or shrub was reported in the bed of the truck.

The driver was reported as a white male with blonde hair and a tattoo on his forearm.

The Buffalo Police Department and the Johnson County Sheriff are currently working the case, and the Johnson County School District has been notified.
