Yellowtail Drive Could Be Expanded To Accommodate Hi-Tech Business Parks In Sheridan

One road on the north side of Sheridan could soon be widened, in anticipation of increased motor vehicle traffic in the area.

At its recent board meeting, the Sheridan Economic and Educational Development Authority (SEEDA) approved a motion to begin preparing bids to add 5-foot gravel shoulders on Yellowtail Drive, from the Weatherby building northward to an area near the Agripark.

The cost of the widening project is estimated to be a little less than $70-thousand.

SEEDA Administrator Robert Briggs says business has been increasing in the hi-tech business park area, and with Phase 2 on its way, there will be more people traveling to and working there as well.

“It’s in terms of in anticipation to help improve with the traffic experience there for the Hi-Tech business park, the Agripark and for the Hi-Tech Park Phase II.”

Briggs adds the bid needs to be approved and the work completed by the end of this year.

The project still needs to be approved by the City of Sheridan Planning and Zoning Commission and the Sheridan City Council.
