The purchase of the land that will be used for the second phase of the Sheridan High Tech Business Park is almost a done deal.
Last month, the Wyoming State Loan and Investment Board approved a $4.4 million grant, so that the Sheridan Economic and Educational Development Authority (SEEDA) can purchase the 35 acres of property, which will eventually be developed into the new park.
Late last week, the SEEDA board approved both the grant and purchase agreements, but still has to finalize and sign the agreements with both the Wyoming Business Council and the property owner, as well as set a closing date.
SEEDA Administrator Robert Briggs says there were some early inquiries from various businesses about the park, back in the early planning stages of this project.
“I think that Sheridan is a community that people like to invest in. We have very entrepreneurial and very business savvy people in the community, so whether it’s expanding an existing business or relocating a business, I definitely think there’s interest both in Sheridan as a whole and in the High Tech Park.”
Briggs adds once everything is finalized, SEEDA will start setting up water, sewer and road infrastructure.
It is possible that new businesses could be up and running in the new park, by this time next year or in spring of 2026.
