On August 31, the Johnson and Sheridan County Democratic Parties announced that they will host a joint Labor Day event on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Kearney Hall in Banner, featuring special guest Wyoming Democratic Party National Committeewoman Kim Bartlett.

“The Johnson and Sheridan County Democratic Parties are thrilled to host a joint Labor Day event featuring guest speaker Wyoming Democratic Party National Committeewoman Kim Bartlett. In addition to advocating for Wyoming at the national level as Committeewoman to the DNC, Kim is a recipient of the Nellie Tayloe Ross Award, has served as the Chair of Hot Springs Democratic Party, and was a candidate for House District 28. She is a fearless and dynamic leader who is deeply involved in her community as a partner in local businesses and dedicated member of many grassroots organizations both in Thermopolis and statewide.

“Her current focus is educating folks across the state about the harm the 50% tax cut in Proposition 1 could cause our local communities. Johnson and Sheridan County Dems have extended an invitation to neighboring county parties and the public for this fun and relaxing afternoon with friends to enjoy family activities, a book exchange, and a silent auction. Sandwiches, tea, and lemonade will be provided,” Becky Mix, Sheridan Democrat Party said in the release.

Guests are welcome to bring a side dish or dessert to share. Details can be found at https://sheridan.wyodems.net/.
