YMCA resident camps deadline approaching
The deadline to register for resident camps through the Sheridan County YMCA is fast approaching.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, YMCA Executive Director Liz Cassiday said all resident camps are held at Camp Roberts located in the Bighorn Mountains, just above Buffalo. Youth will reside overnight for the duration of the camp they have been registered to attend. Bus transportation is provided with the option to drop-off and pick-up your child.
Registration deadlines for the traditional resident camps will be this Saturday.
Although set in the traditional style of overnight camping, many of the camps offered through the YMCA are anything but. Listed on the website are resident camps that will focus on subjects that will teach children skills and broaden their appreciation of the world, such as Survival Camp, Learn to Shoot and Hunter Safety Camp and Art Nomads.
If parents are looking for the traditional camping experience for children, the Y offers that as well, for both younger children and teens.
If funds are proving to be a hurdle to getting your child’s name on a camp registration, the hard work of Y staff and generous hearts of donors have provided discreet scholarships so every child can have a summer camp experience. Click here, for an application.
