News ReleaseAt approximately 7:27 p.m. on November 8, 2022, the Sheridan Police Department received a report of a hit and run on the 600 block of Coffeen Avenue.
A woman and her 12 year old daughter were walking northbound on the sidewalk near the north entrance/exit to Washington Park and were struck by a vehicle.
The victims and one witness reported a newer model black Dodge pickup drove onto the portion of the entrance/exit crossed by the sidewalk as it attempted to enter the roadway from Washington Park.
The vehicle drove forward as the woman and daughter continued walking on the sidewalk.
The Dodge struck the woman and daughter, knocking them down.
The females reported soreness but no injuries.
The male driver did stop to check on the victims but left the scene prior to police arrival without providing identification or insurance information.
The suspect vehicle has been described as a matte black, newer Dodge pickup with a headlight and fog light out on the driver’s side.
