Johnson County is currently seeing an uptick in COVID cases with 13 reported last week and eight the week before, according to a release from the Johnson County COVID Task Force.

Wyoming is seeing an increase in cases as a whole, but the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has Johnson County listed in the “red” category, meaning “High Community Level of Transmission.”

With this designation, the CDC recommends all individuals wear a well-fitting mask when indoors in public locations.

Recommendations are still to stay home when sick, test for COVID-19, wear a mask in public indoor settings, increasing ventilation, and following other recommended precautions to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 to family, friends, coworkers, or neighbors. Close contact is still considered as within 6 feet for 15 minutes or longer.

One of the most effective measures to stop the spread of COVID-19 is to be fully vaccinated and up-to-date on the COVID-19 vaccine.

Vaccinations are available at Johnson County Public Health, Johnson County Healthcare Center, Corner Stone Pharmacy and Buffalo Prescription Shop.

The Johnson County COVID-19 Taskforce is continuing to monitor COVID-19 in the community.

If you have any questions, visit the COVID Task Force website.

We have provided contact information and information on testing below.
