After 25 years in law enforcement, Sheridan County Sheriff Allen Thompson announces retirement

Sheridan County Sheriff Allen Thompson will not seek reelection in 2022. 

In a letter, Thompson announced that he plans to remain in Sheridan and seek other opportunities to serve the people of Sheridan County. 

One of Thompson’s primary goals as sheriff was leadership development and the adoption of an intensive selection process for promotion, focusing on the candidate’s community service traits. 

Within the letter, Thompson endorses Undersheriff Levi Dominguez, elaborating on the four years of tutelage and Domiguez’s extensive public service record.
