Skyline Singers present “The Pirates of Penzance”

The Skyline Singers will present the British team of W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan’s  “The Pirates of Penzance” at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 in Kinnison Hall at Sheridan College’s Whitney Center for the Arts.

Sheridan College’s director of choirs and vocal studies and director of the college’s professional Skyline Singers ensemble, Dr. Robert Psurny, appeared on Sheridan Media’s Pulse and said the comic operetta follows Frederic, a young man mistakenly apprenticed to pirates, as duty and romance complicate his efforts to leave piracy behind.

Principal roles will feature Skyline Singers members, including Ryan Landis as Frederic, Rosalyn Steiner as Mabel and Jan Michael Kliewer as Major-General Stanley.

Sheridan College’s Chamber Choir and Collegiate Chorale will provide the chorus, bringing college singers together with the professional ensemble.
