The Sheridan County YMCA has undergone a lot of construction in the past few years. With those additions comes elevators, cardio and weight rooms, child care and class rooms, as well as a vast Aquatic Center.
Recent additions to the Y will soon include a climbing and bouldering wall.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, YMCA Executive Director Liz Cassiday told listeners these two walls serve different climb training purposes.
Although visitors and members of the Y can see them currently, they are not ready to bear weight just yet.
According to Cassiday, once the rest of the components arrive and are installed, the climbing can begin. Cassiday also informed listeners the new climbing walls will provide a confidence builder for many children and can improve self-esteem by providing a physical and mental challenge.
