American Legion Baseball set to Open Practice This Week

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL – Our first local sport back on the field will be Sheridan American legion baseball and the first day back it is schedule to be later this week.

Sheridan Troopers Head coach Ben Phillips informed us Sunday night that the American legion baseball board will meet tomorrow Night then they will host a Jets / Troopers player / parent meeting Wednesday night with the expectation of the first gathering of players and coaches taking place Thursday afternoon.

All Wyoming teams were given the green light to begin season preparations by state Commissioner Cody Beers says they will open practices this with some limitations on numbers of players and coaches allowed on the field at one time.

No start date to the season has been announced as Beers said it depends on current state health orders changing and at this time also announced that no fans could attend live games.

2020 HOOP JAM – The 2020 Sheridan “Hoop Jam” three on three basketball tournament has been canceled the announcement came over the weekend from Sheridan high school Activities Director Don Julian the hoop jam was slated for the first weekend in June.

BH TRAIL RUN – The 2020 Big Horn Mountain trail run has been canceled, the trail run takes place the 3rd weekend of June, The race committee did announce the dates for the 2021 race which is scheduled for June 18th and 19th next year.

SC HOOPS – Sheridan college basketball coaches announced some new signings for the coming season Lady Generals Head coach Ryan Davis says Jersie Taylor from Thunder Basin high school in Gillette has committed to play for the Lady Generals this fall.

Generals Head coach Cody Ball announced that Buffalo high school’s Hunter Peterson has committed to play for the Generals this fall.
