Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

BRONC / LADY BRONC HOOPS – The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams split with Cheyenne South and Laramie the Broncs won both big with the Lady Broncs dropped two more.

The Broncs whipped Cheyenne South Friday and clamped down the defense on Laramie Saturday after a slow start and won 49-31, Head coach Jeff Martini.

After a rough weekend dropping two games in Cheyenne it was nice to play well and win two games.

This week back into league play with Campbell county at home Friday and a road game to Thunder Basin Saturday.

TONGUE RIVER HOOPS – The Tongue River basketball teams dropped home games to Greybull the Eagles did save the weekend with a victory at Riverside Saturday.

BIG HORN HOOPS – The Big Horn basketball teams both picked up victories at Moorcroft Friday they hosted Sundance Saturday the Rams lost the Lady Rams came out on top.

SC HOOPS – The Sheridan college Generals and Lady Generals split games at Central Wyoming Saturday the Lady Generals won big 74-44 the Generals lost 82-80 both teams play at home Wednesday night against Northwest college.

COWBOY HOOPS – The Wyoming basketball teams took on Colorado state Saturday the Pokes lost 77-70 they play at Utah state Wednesday night.

COWGIRL HOOPS – The Cowgirls beat Colorado state 43-40 they host Utah state Wednesday night.

WRESTLING – The Bronc wrestlers dropped a tight dual at Thunder Basin Saturday the final was 40-36 the Broncs now get ready fro their regional tournament it starts Friday in Cheyenne.

BRONC / LADY BRONC INDOOR TRACK –The Sheridan high school track teams had great results at the “Simplot Games” in Pocatello,Idaho.

Austin Akers won the freshmen boys 1600 meters, Brock Bomar was 6th in the 400 meters, Carter McComb was 7th in the 200 meters, Tim Brown was 20th in the 800 meters, Ryan Karajanis was 7th in the poles vault and Gage Vielhauer was 2nd in the shot put, the Broncs 4×400 meter relay team was 3rd and 4×800 relay team was 2nd.

For the Lady Broncs Jaylynn Morgan was 2nd in the freshman 1600 meters Abby Newton was 4th and Alicia Thoney finished 13th in the pole vault and the Lady Broncs 4×800 meter relay team was 6th.

HAWKS HOCKEY – The Sheridan Junior Hawks slit games in Helena, Montana they won 4-3 in a shoot out and lost Saturday 6-3. The Hawks host two at home this week it’s Gillette Friday and Cody Saturday during the WYO Winter Rodeo.
