UW Haub School to host virtual, in-person screenings of outdoor adventure films Oct. 21-24

The University of Wyoming has announced that the UW Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources will host Mountainfilm on Tour with both live and virtual screenings of environmental and outdoor adventure films and documentaries.

According to the University, this is the 10th consecutive year that the Haub School has hosted Mountainfilm on Tour in Laramie. The screenings are free and open to the public. Tickets for both experiences are available through www.uwyo.edu/haub/events.

The in-person screening is Thursday, Oct. 21, at the Gryphon Theatre in Laramie, located at 710 E. Garfield St. Films begin at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Limited seating is available, and advance ticket reservations are required.

The virtual screening of the same films begins Friday, Oct. 22, at 9 a.m. and will be available to view until Sunday, Oct. 24, at 11:55 p.m. Advance ticket reservations are recommended. According to UW, the Haub School will host a virtual watch party and live prize giveaways via Instagram Friday, Oct. 22, from 6-9 p.m. for participants watching the films.

Established in 1979, Mountainfilm is an organization and festival of films, people, stories and ideas celebrating indomitable spirit; educating and inspiring audiences; and motivating individuals and communities to advance solutions for a livable world.

Mountainfilm on Tour shares a selection of the films from the annual festival with audiences around the world and offers a free educational outreach initiative for K-12 schools titled “Mountainfilm for Students.” Each year, the tour reaches more than 50,000 people on six continents.

The Haub School advances the understanding and resolution of complex environment and natural resource challenges.
