City Now Accepting Applications for Citizen Academy

The City of Sheridan is now accepting applications for community members interested in participating in the first annual Citizen Academy. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

The Academy, which will be led by City staff, will offer participants the opportunity to tour facilities, experience City operations firsthand, and learn more about how to get involved in their local government and community. City Administrator Stu McRae says they encourage individuals from all backgrounds and professions to apply.

Participants must be at least 18 years old. The Citizen Academy will meet each Wednesday at 5:30 pm, from August 12 through

September 30, and session length will vary from two to three hours. Participation is limited to 20 community members, and applications will be accepted through July 15, 2026. Application information can be found here.
