Text Scam Urges Immediate Action

A text message scam targeting Wyoming residents is circulating, according to Sheridan County Undersheriff Lieutenant Doug Sanders, who discussed the scam on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse. 

The Undersheriff informed the public that this scam claims the recipient has an unpaid traffic infraction in Laramie County and warns of a court date scheduled for the following day.

The scam attempts to create a sense of urgency by threatening immediate consequences and pressuring recipients to act quickly.

Sanders urged residents to be cautious of any unsolicited text messages demanding immediate action or payment.
