WYDOT Continues to Seek Public Feedback on Coffeen Avenue Corridor Project
The Wyoming Department of Transportation completed a corridor study in 2023. That study, in addition to substantial public input, resulted in a recommendation to emplace medians along the corridor. These medians would improve safety for vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic while also providing an aesthetic appeal.
Wyoming Department of Transportation District 4 Senior Public Information Specialist Laura Dalles said the addition of these medians aligns with work on the road surface scheduled for 2028.

Public meetings regarding the construction have been held with City and WYDOT representatives but WYDOT is continuing to seek public feedback on the plan.
WYDOT has a dedicated webpage for the public to view not only the plans for the project but the studies that have been conducted that led to the decision.

It’s very sad this is not about safety this is about esthetics if a study was really done you could tell in a very short time that center lane is a relief valve for those 4 lanes of traffic people take that center lane to keep from holding up traffic, if center lane is blocked one whole lane will be blocked until a person can turn, also lanes will be blocked with people waiting to do U turns which means both lanes on opposite side will have to be clear that’s what it will take to make a U turn because there is no opening to turn at the business they need to go to, also l was there when one lane was blocked off do to construction and Emergency vehicles were coming behind me with only one lane open and no one could get out of the way they all stopped in the one lane the only way for Fire trucks to get buy was to take the center lane how is that going to work in that situation with concrete in the center? Somebody didn’t study this very well, and you talk about Safety WHAT A MESS THAT WILL BE, l just moved here and have seen all of that in just 3 weeks someone is not doing their JOB IF you have done a long study and have come to this brilliant conclusion, this is WYOMING we don’t need to be pend in like cattle we do have pretty good horse sense on how to get around we need that safety valve not someone’s idea of beauty Please leave it ALONE THANK YOU IF YOU WILL LISTEN.
