Game and Fish Announce Season Setting Meetings
Wildlife biologists and game wardens with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department are beginning work on hunting season proposals for the 2026 fall seasons and are inviting the public to review and comment during a series of open houses and a formal season-setting meeting in March.
During an appearance on Public Pulse, Wyoming Game and Fish Department Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt wanted to announce the meetings giving interested stakeholders plenty of time to prepare and schedule to attend.

The meetings give hunters, landowners and community members an opportunity to learn about proposed license allocations, season length changes and other potential adjustments before they are presented to the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission.
Open houses are scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, March 23, at the George Amos Building in Gillette; from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at the Buffalo Public Library; from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at the Kaycee Public Library; and from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at the Sheridan Game and Fish Regional Office. The formal season-setting meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, March 30, at the Sheridan Game and Fish Regional Office.
For those unable to attend in person, presentations from district biologists will be posted on the Wyoming Game and Fish website that week, and comments may be submitted by mail or online. All written and online comments will be provided to the commission prior to its April meeting and must be received by 5 p.m. April 1.
