Jillian Balow Joins The Race For Wyoming’s Lone US House Seat
A Gillette native and former State Superintendent of Public Instruction in both Wyoming and Virginia, has returned to announce her intentions to run for Congress.
Jillian Balow is joining the race for the Republican nomination, for Wyoming’s lone seat in the US House of Representatives.
She was elected Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction in 2014 and was re-elected in 2018, but resigned in 2022 with less than 1 year remaining on her second 4-year term, to take the same position in Virginia.
She resigned from that position after being on the job for a little less than 14 months.
Balow will go up against current Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray and Casper businessman Reid Rasner.
Current Wyoming Representative Harriet Hageman has announced she is running for Wyoming’s U-S Senate seat, which is currently held by Cynthia Lummis, who announced she will not seek re-election this year.
The Wyoming primary election is scheduled for August 18th and the General Election is scheduled for November 3rd.

I am officially announcing my campaign for Wyoming’s lone seat in the United States House of Representatives.
I grew up in Gillette, an energy town that taught me the values Wyoming lives by: hard work, personal responsibility, and local control. Those values have guided my service to Wyoming, and they will guide me in Congress.
Wyoming needs a strong, conservative voice in Washington that will defend our energy economy, protect our constitutional freedoms, support parents and veterans, and stand firm for our way of life.
I’m running to back up President Donald J. Trump, and I look forward to working with Congresswoman Harriet Hageman and Senator John Barrasso to keep Wyoming strong, free, and thriving, and keep America First!
I hope you’ll join me as this campaign begins.
