Ucross Holds Reception for New Exhibit

On Thursday, February 20, the Ucross Foundation held a reception to celebrate the latest exhibit, The Language of the Land, showcasing artwork by the 2024 recipients of the Ucross Fellowship for Native American Artists, there was a guided tour of the gallery and light refreshments from the Ucross Café, featuring freshly baked pastries by their residency chef, Jackie Vitale.

Caitlin Addlesperger, President & Executive Director thanked those who helped with the exhibit and welcomed those who were attending the reception.
Through photography, mixed media, and poetry, The Language of the Land explores the profound relationship between land, identity, and storytelling. The exhibition will be on view at the Ucross Art Gallery through May 10.
Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is free and open to the public.

Artists included in the exhibit were Jeremy Dennis, Danielle Shandiin Emerson, poet and artist, and Steven J. Yazzie, landscape photographer.
Visitors are invited to engage with the artists and curator during two special events on April 18. There will be an artist talk at Sheridan College in Kinnison Hall at 11 a.m., and an evening reception at the Ucross Art Gallery at 6 p.m.
