On July 26, The Knights of Valor are returning to compete in Sheridan during a one day medieval festival to benefit CHAPS Equine Assisted Services.

But before the swords and shields are donned for battle, CHAPS needs lords, ladies, townsfolk and a sheriff.

CHAPS Equine Assisted Services Executive Director Kristen Marcus and board member Aubree Helton made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse seeking a few volunteers to fill the roles of the townsfolk for the Tournament of Knights.

According to Helton, optional classes will be made available to volunteers teaching them how to speak and carry themselves like a person in the medieval period. A class on creating your own costume will also be available so volunteers can sound and look the roles.

Helton said the requirements are not strict, she and Marcus would like the actors to “have fun with it.”

The main fundraiser for CHAPS scholarship programs, the funds will be used to ensure clients and potential clients can receive this unique and effective therapy.
