Alleyway Agreement
The City of Sheridan recently entered into an agreement with two businesses downtown for use of a portion of an alleyway. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
In 2021, Smith Alley east was closed to vehicular traffic and the City of Sheridan entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Mint Bar and Bighorn Design that allowed for improvements to the alleyway. The City Council recently approved agreements with Freshly Minted Real Estate, LLC and Bighorn Design Homes LLC for use of the alley. City Engineer Thomas Morneau said the adjacent properties of Smith Alley requested the agreements so that they could use the alley for outdoor seating.

Morneau said the term of each of the agreements is for five years and the City can terminate the lease agreements for health and safety reasons at any time and can terminate with 90 days notice if the public interest is no longer served.
