Sheridan Commission Approves Airport Grant Application
A request to submit an application for a grant-in-aid for state funds for an event at the Sheridan County Airport later this summer was considered by the county commission.
Airport Manager Robert Gill explained what the funds will be used for.
Gill said the cost to put on the event is estimated at about $25,000 paid for through sponsorships and fundraising.
The $4,000 in grant funding, through the Wyoming Department of Transportation’s Aeronautics Division, requires no local match requirement and will be used to support the event by providing sanitary stations and the hiring of an “air boss” to manage air traffic and ensure safety during the event.
The commission voted to approve the application for grant funding.
