Veterans Day is just around the corner. Veterans Day is a federal holiday observed annually on Nov. 11. This day is set aside for honoring military veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
In conjunction with a local Veteran’s Day celebration, organizations have banded together to hold a benefits fair and raise local support for Operation Green Light.
Through the simple act of replacing the front porch light bulbs to a green bulb, residents and businesses can show veterans in the community that they are remembered and supported. These organizations are asking everyone to make Sheridan glow green the week of Nov. 4-11.
Sheridan VA Health Care System Public Affairs Specialist Cherish Thompson and Community Engagement and Partnership Coordinator Kayla Stevens worked to gather representatives from many of the organizations to appear on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to announce Operation Green Light “Green Glow” Kickoff.
Sheridan City Council Member Greg Luhman has been visiting many downtown businesses, Sheridan Fire and Rescue and other locations spreading the word of Operation Green Light in the community.
