Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns will host the Annual Women’s Build beginning on Aug. 1, through Aug. 5.
Executive Director Christine Dietrich and Resource and Development Coordinator Dan Alsup appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to discuss this year’s Women’s Build.
Habitat for Humanity offers this build as an opportunity to learn new skills, or brush up on old ones, in a safe environment. No experience in the construction field is necessary, and participants will complete a task they are comfortable with performing while helping to construct a home for a Sheridan family.
The Women Build does not exclude men, but is about encouraging women to become empowered to participate and demonstrate what they can accomplish when working construction as a team.
Alsup told listeners he’s excited to see the amount of work that will be accomplished as dedicated Sheridan women come together to build a home for a Sheridan family.
Participants must be 16 years of age or older. Each participant is encouraged to raise a minimum of $100, but any donation will be accepted. Teams can be created of up to 10 people and are asked to raise $500.
Businesses and teams are encouraged to use this as a team building opportunity while also building a home for a local Sheridan family.
HHEB has set a fundraising goal of $10,000 for this Women’s Build. To help or to register, either yourself or as a team, click here.
