Aaron PalmerBuffalo’s City Council, during their most recent meeting, considered the recommendation of Mayor Shane Schrader for a board appointment.
Mayor Schrader made the request of the council.
The council voted to approve Brian Whitlock to a re-appointment on a three-year term on the Lodging Tax Joint Powers Board.
According to Google, lodging tax boards use the funds collected to support tourism and the local economy.
A ballot initiative will be placed on the November General Election ballot this year that will allow voters in the county to decide if the county-wide Lodging Tax should be increased by 2% from its current 5% level to a 7% rate.
